Here is an example of how the movie thriller 'the step father' interprets a scene from the famous thriller 'psycho'.
After the man had been stabbed by his fiance in self defence the man stumbled backwards into the bath pulling down the shower curtain in the process.
In the film psycho the woman who had just been stabbed a number of times pulled down the shower curtain whist collapsing forward to her death.
The camera zooms out of the medium close up of the man after he falls into the bath and here shows a wide shot of him supposedly dead in the bath.
Again the camera zooms out from the close up of the woman like in the the movie 'the step father' therefoe showing an example of intertextuality.
