Film Genre and the Cinema in 2010

In 2010 around 38 Suspense films were released; which grossed £42 million. On the other hand, Action/Adventure grossed a total of £265 million. The most popular family genre in 2010 was Animation. This is may be caused by the amount of children that like it, due to the humour and it being family friendly. People of all ages can refer to it, since its comedy and easy to understand. The suspense genre did not gross as much as some of the other genres such as animation is because suspense films have a certain target audience, mainly adults and is not family centered. Suspense films' popularity has gone down in sense of Hollywood movies, since what they've been making is more Fantasy and Action. The reason to this may be that there are more viewers for the Fantasy and Action genre's since they have a wider audience range.
